Tumi Sebopa is the founder of Inception Book Club and currently works as a marketer in the food and beverages industry. She has experience as a postgraduate lecturer, she is a PhD candidate at Wits University and works on research that focuses on leadership in emerging markets and gender transformation in business.


Tumi is an avid reader who is passionate about the development of women. She aims to use platforms like Inception Book Club to create a culture of women coming together to influence each other positively.

Neo Sebete a social entrepreneur  who is passionate about empowering the youth from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

She co-founded IDA (Indigenous dance academy) which has developed young talented dancers from townships by moving them from the streets and helping them to find employment in theatres and events in Africa and Europe. She is currently involved in other social initiatives like SAB's Be The Mentor program and has been actively involved in producing television programs with a social focus.

Khanya Mlilo is a full time model with Ice Models and an aspiring entrepreneur. A Bcom Finance graduate from Wits University and founder of Waist Trainer SA and Feminine Stride, she embraces both her analytical and creative side.

Lumka Jwara is an Accounting graduate who currently works in Anti-money laundering.

She is involved in social initiatives that focus on young girls and has used her life story to inspire women by speaking at events such as Bravado movement - Lead young women events.

She is a blogger and YouTuber, creating content for South African women on: Natural hair care, lifestyle and books. 

She also has a photography business, Lumkajphotography, and is working on creating a lane for herself in the photography space.

Rirhandzu Rissenga is a Certified Information Systems Auditor in the Financial Services sector, and has over 10 years experience in the field. She has worked for organisations like EY, Nedbank, FirstRand etc. She holds a BIS Information Science degree from the University of Pretoria.


She volunteers at a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) called Makomba Ndlela Youth Empowerment Organisation. The NPO’s mandate is providing information about careers in Science, Technology and Engineering to learners who are in Grade 10-12 in rural areas where they do not have access to information or technology mediums.


She is passionate about education and sharing information with those that are under privileged and the NPO is the best platform to give back to the communities.





Meriam Ntsewa is an Economics and Finance graduate pursuing her passion in Marketing (Brand Management) within the retail industry.


She is a spiritual Counselor at her local church and also a Coach at CareerBuild - an initiative that assists high school learners in township schools around Jhb on their career decision-making through workshop training, career days and collaborative efforts with various field experts.


On a lighter note, she is a personal blogger and an amateur photographer with a special "3rd eye". She's obsessed about capable black women who boldly and confidently show up in whatever spaces they find themselves in and push the boundaries.




Charlotte (Charlie) is an MBA graduate who is currently working in the Digital Marketing space. She also works with a group of ladies to help raise funds for female co-founded businesses through the Dazzle Angels fund,  she has a podcast called The Hustle Flow, that showcases entrepreneurs and is a trustee for Silibona Educational Trust that raises funds for female tertiary students.


Whilst she loves helping others, her first love is reading. And one day she hopes to become more than just a reader.





Maggie is a Category Manager at a leading explosives company, where she manages the spend of its African, Middle East, and Europe Operations.

Her corporate career includes 3 years at multinational pharmaceutical company Aspen Pharmacare, 5 years with global mining giant Rio Tinto, and currently 3 years with Orica Africa. Her career moves have given her exposure across EMEA by working on projects and managing spend in South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, Mali, Guinea, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Cameroon, DRC, Tanzania, Senegal, Ghana, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire, UAE, Russia, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Spain, UK, Germany, and other various countries in Europe.

Her passion for driving social change has always found way in the companies she has worked for. Maggie is passionate about mentoring the youth around playing a proactive role in their own career, personal development as well as the development of their communities.

Chartered Accountant


Philisiwe Mbambo is a qualified CA(SA)  in the Banking industry. Her passion is in property and finance. 


She is involved in initiatives focused on the awareness of rare conditions, mainly NF. She believes that regardless of ones physical, emotional and financial state, it is the love, acceptance and warmth around them that makes their life exceptional.





In addition to being Stevie Wonder’s biggest fan, Zakithi Mncwango is currently a Trade Marketing Manager in the cosmetics industry. She is the former Africa marketing manager of Safilo. The Italian eyewear creator and distributor of global fashion and lifestyle brands such as Fendi, Jimmy Choo, Hugo Boss and Marc Jacobs to name a few.


An economics graduate happily working with the world’s leading fashion brands, she is highly skilled and experienced in luxury brand marketing management across the continent, with an interest in luxury brand strategy. When she is not building brands, she enjoys lunches that turn into long dinners with great friends.





Tendai Chitima successfully graduated from the University of Cape Town, South Africa with a Bachelor of Arts in Film, Media & Writing and Drama. She was on the Dean’s Merit List for Academic Achievement. During and after her studies she gained experience in film & theatre production, copy writing, arts festival facilitation, acting and marketing. Her love for the performing arts led her to join a creative team as conceptualiser, song writer, co-director and actress for two extraordinary musical stage productions at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town.  Tendai also has practice as a copy writer with a press advertising company and has received a radio production skills training certificate. The scripts she wrote were aired on national radio and concepts published in national press in Zimbabwe.

A lover of competitive sport and team work, in the past she has captained basketball, soccer and athletic teams – winning awards for most outstanding sportswoman of the year. Furthermore, her gift of writing has granted two of her poems in the Young Writers anthologies publications in the United Kingdom. She has also been awarded Honours Grade in the Vocal and Instrumental Festival by the National Institute of Allied Arts. Tendai believes in leaving a legacy as well as making an impact in society.


She has been involved in youth initiatives such as the Clanwilliam Arts Festival (the Living Landscape Project) in the Western Cape and Harare International Festival of Arts (HIFA) as a drama workshop facilitator and Youth Zone facilitator respectively. She worked as a brand ambassador and Host for a youth marketing firm- 3RC, which aims to ‘educate, motivate and inspire’ young learners all over South Africa through education. Tendai has previously been involved in the running of Sisters Working in Film and Television (SWIFT), a South African NPO which seeks to promote, protect and provide opportunities for women in the industry.

Tendai has acted in various film and television productions such as on Isidingo (SABC 3) and iNumber Number (DSTV Mzansi Magic). She was cast as lead for the 2017 Zimbabwean independent film,  Cook Off.  The film has been selected for viewing at multiple film festivals around the world. The film won an Audience Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2018 and Best Film at the Zimbabwe International Film Festival (ZIFF) in 2018. In 2019, the film was awarded a National Arts Merit Award for Outstanding Screen Production (Long Film). Tendai won Best Zimbabwean Actress at ZIFF 2018 and a National Arts Merit Award in 2019 for Outstanding Actress in a Screen Production.  Besides acting, she has recently completed a Master in Business Administration at Wits Business School in South Africa. In 2018, Tendai received an Erasmus Scholarship to participate in an exchange program at the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland. 


Using her all her skills, talents and exposure, she wants to build creative strategies that will have positive impact in Zimbabwe, Africa and the World.



Chartered Accountant

Maphuti Langa is a qualified  CA (SA) with interest in the wider financial services sector. Currently working in the banking industry  in the regulatory and finance space.


Her passion outside of work includes supporting  NGO's  that encourage education for the  previously disadvantaged learners by volunteering with an NGO called Sapient Soweto where the focus is on Tutoring and mentoring the girl child in high school to be better prepared  for higher education.


In Future she hopes to meet the only ever "living Legend" Toni Braxton. In her downtime she loves  reading with hopes  of studying Theology  in future.



Project Management - Textiles

Nomali Vilani is a Bcom and MBA Graduate, currently studying towards a Masters in Project Management.


She is  the founder of  Bonocini Shoes and currently works as a Group Finance Director & Project Manager for a Global Fabric wholesaler. She also has interests in Property Development, interior Decorating and enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures.


Her quest for equal rights, justice, fairness and justified equilibrium of human dignity and respect towards her peers is her day-to-day motivation. This can be attested to her empirical professional growth in all her different spheres of work engagements within South Africa and abroad.




Passionate about media and communication, and hopeful about the future of South Africa, Kgauhelo Dioka is a media specialist who is fervent about mental health and empowering others to live a purpose driven life. She’s a BA (Communication Science) Media Studies and a BA (Hons) Organisational Communication graduate.

Being an avid reader, Kgauhelo believes that reading a wide genre of books has helped see the world in a progressive and open minded way. Because in real life, speed kills, she opts for the fast paced broadcasting life any day. Kgauhelo has career experience in media liaison, corporate writing, radio broadcasting, social media and copy editing. She spends her spare time reviewing books, attending theatre plays and travelling.

Dora loves children, reading, going to church, traveling and interacting with people. She's also a huge fan of Gqom music.


Next on her to-do list is bungee jumping and helping out at a children's home.



Environmental Science

Raisibe Mabiza is an Environmental Scientist who is well versed in Environmental Legislation and Environmental Management Systems. She has experience as an Environmental Assessment Practitioner, Environmental Control Officer and Environmental Auditor for parastatals and the mining industry.


She holds a BSc in Geology and Environmental Science degree from the University of Johannesburg, and her skills include project management, GIS, environmental impact assessments, public participation, environmental awareness training, generating high quality and accurate reports inclusive of Environmental Management Plans, Basic Assessment Reports, Integrated Waste Management Plans, Water Use Licence Applications and Section 24G Application process in compliance with legislative requirements and with reference to best industry practice.


Raisibe is passionate about Children's Ministry and Sports. She believes that teaching young people will revive the tarnished family structure caused by the legacy of our discriminatory history. She hopes to someday author children's books.

Law - Entreprenuer

Nolwandle Xulu grew up in Soweto.  She graduated with an LLB from the University of Johannesburg.

After Graduating she began serving articles at a law firm in Johannesburg that specialises in criminal law. During her stay there she learnt about criminal law and the criminal Justice system. In 2014 she moved on to complete her articles at a law a law firm In Midrand, which is where her path in commercial and corporate law started. In 2015 she joined a construction and mining company as a legal advisor  then later  joined another company  as a legal Consultant and Credit Law advisor.

Although she enjoyed Legal Consultancy, she decided to heed her call of practicing law. In 2017 she co- established Xulu Attorneys with her co -Director Mr Kholwani Msomi.

Xulu Attorneys is a law firm based in Randpark Ridge (Randburg). The firm is 100% black and majority female owned. The people behind it collectively have 18 years’ experience in law. They specialise in Commercial and Corporate law, Civil Litigation (Magistrate Court and Superior courts), Labour Law, Criminal Law and mediation. They do not just practice law but love what they do. They offer excellence and strive to make a difference in the lives of those who need their assistance.

Apart from practicing law, she is passionate about sharing her life, failures, hopes and lessons she's learnt. Nolwandle does this through public speaking, coaching and a youth organisation she started called More Than A Statistic.
